Volkswagen Australia has increased the retail prices of multiple models across its range, justifying the extra premium with equipment upgrades.
Affecting six models in its line-up, the changes range from $200 in the case of the Golf, to $1800 for the Touareg 210TDI Elegance – although the Passat, T-Cross, T-Roc and Tiguan have also gone up in price.
The 11 increases across various trim variants works out at an average of $985, with Volkswagen telling Wheels the extra costs come alongside upgrades.

Volkswagen Golf Australian pricing – October 2021
The eighth-generation Golf was released earlier this year and now has a touch control panel for rear zone climate-control air-conditioning as standard, as well as an easy close electric tailgate – which has been added to the Life's wagon variants.
