THE WEIRD and wonderful world of aftermarket customisation is never more present than when the annual Specialty Equipment Market Association, or SEMA, Show rolls around.

Held in Las Vegas, SEMA is known for showcasing the wildest from the aftermarket scene.

Recently however, manufacturers have been getting in on the fun with their own examples.

Kia -Sorento -conceptTake, for example, this wonderfully crazy Kia Sorento with four tank tracks, built for tackling the snow fields.

Dodge arrived with what it calls a ‘Shakedown Challenger’. The result is the love-child of a classic 1971 Challenger and its modern equivalent. Along with the mashed-up styling, a 6.4-litre HEMI sits under the bonnet. Hell yea!

Honda -Civic -Coupe -race -carHonda showed off its Honda Civic Type R once again, but also debuted a Honda Civic Coupe Racing Concept. The car will make its competitive debut at the USAF 25 Hour of Thunderhill race, and looks epic with massive rear-wing and hunkered down appearance.

There were also a number of different takes on the American Honda Ridgeline pick-up truck. However, much to our disappointment, the Ridgeline is unlikely to ever make its way Down Under.

BMW-at -SEMABMW took a far more subtle route, showing off aftermarket options for its cars. These included a new rear-wing for the M3, new coilover suspension for the BMW M3 and M4, and a new M Performance light alloy wheel.

But the granddaddy of them all goes to Toyota, which built a 1491kW, 300km/h+ Land Cruiser.

Toyota -Land -SpeedsterThe Lamborghini beater is dubbed the ‘Land Speeder’, and comes equipped with twin "volleyball-sized Garrett turbochargers" strapped to the stock 5.7-litre V8.

Sorry Bentley, but your Bentayga just got beat!

Oh, and they also built a performance Prius – yes, you read that right – that is capable of pulling nearly 1G in the bends.

Only at SEMA!
