Skoda has upgraded the standard equipment list of its Superb sedan and wagon range.

From September, all Superb variants will now come with 9.2-inch infotainment screen (up from 8-inches) and advanced driver assist functions including blind spot detection, lane assist, rear-cross traffic alert, slow-speed cruise control and Emergency Assist which stops the car and flashes the hazard lights if it senses the driver is unresponsive.

The changes sees the Superb’s price of entry rise by $700 to $40,690 for the 162TSI sedan, but Skoda points out the extra kit is worth $2700 – offering a $2000 net increase in value-for-money.

Meanwhile, the range topping Superb Sportline gains $7510 worth of new features which pushes its manufacturer’s list price up $4800 to $56,790 and $58,490 for the sedan and wagon respectively.

These include adaptive chassis control, foot-swipe boot opener, premium Canton sound system, automatic park assist, power-adjusted passenger seats and heated rear seats.
