Kia has released further details of its all-new 2012 Cee’d hatchback ahead of the car’s debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March.

The new Cee’d, which shares its platform with the latest Hyundai i30, is certainly a striking looking piece of design, receiving the Korean firm’s now familiar “tiger-nose” grille, as well as some new aggressive wraparound headlamps with integrated LEDs.

Inside, Kia is keen to demonstrate how far it’s progressed from its budget origins, endowing the new Cee’d’s interior with higher quality switchgear and a touchscreen infotainment system.

As yet, Kia has not confirmed what engines will power the new Cee’d, but expect a similar line-up to the current car. This will mean an engine range from the current entry-level 65kW 1.4-litre petrol unit to the range-topping 93kW 1.6-litre turbodiesel.

Expect Kia’s eco-focussed ISG start-stop technology to feature too, helping improve the new Cee’d’s efficiency.

We still won't see the Cee'd here however - it's for European markets only.
