Written just a year before his untimely death, it is a poignant look back at both the man himself, and the impact he had around the globe.

2010 FPV GT-P vs Mad Max Interceptor

FPV-GT-vs -Mad -Max -Interceptor -driving -dirt -roadThree decades after Mad Max hit movie screens, FPV came out with the V8-engined GT, a 5.0-litre homage to the supercharged Ford V8. To celebrate, Wheels took the GT on a 1150km maxxed-out mission to meet its celebrity elder sibling. The epic road trip, published in December 2010, turned into a fantastic tribute to classic Aussie cars and cinema.

1996 Ligier JS41 F1 review

Wheels was given the chance to test the 1995 Adelaide Grand Prix runner-up, the Ligier JS41, with full technical support, telemetry and tyre change at the Circuit Paul Ricard in France. Even today, it remains a fascinating insight into what it what it was like to drive the hairy-chested F1 cars of the ’90s.

2013 Audi R8: From Melbourne to Sydney

2013-Audi -R8-front -side -sunset -(1)Our beloved Nathan Ponchard hates moving house. Frankly, who can blame him. So when the time came for our senior journalist to move from Melbourne to Sydney in 2013, he thought he’d improve the bad situation by doing the trek in an Audi R8. Although it’s an unusual moving vehicle, it made for an entertaining yarn.
