We assembled every Falcon generation at the company’s You Yangs proving ground to give Ford’s iconic Aussie four-door a send-off.
Although today’s closure of Ford’s local assembly plant in Broadmeadows may leave many fans of the Blue Oval a touch misty eyed, we prefer to instead focus on the legacy that Ford’s manufacturing presence has left us.
To celebrate the Australian-built Falcon, Wheels assembled 24 Falcons – from XK to FG – at Ford’s You Yangs proving ground before the factory that spawned them closes its doors for the last time.
Every bodystyle was represented: from sedans to wagons, coupes to utes and even a solitary panel van. All were immaculate examples of their generation, and none showed up on the back of a trailer.
