Although it was Ford who offered a variation of seatbelt as an option in 1955, it was the 1959 Volvo 122 that featured the three point seat belt, developed by Nils Bohlin as a standard safety feature. By 1970 the first worldwide law was passed in our very own Victoria, making it compulsory for all drivers and front passengers to wear a safety belt.
