Honda desperately wanted to follow its existing NSX supercar with an all-new model. In 2008 the press was printing spy shots of prototypes running with a front-mounted 5.5-litre 560bhp V10 engine, a six-speed semi-automatic gearbox and a top speed of 200mph.Then at the end of the year, as the world's banking system imploded, Honda pulled out of Formula 1 and ditched the new NSX.
